Tag Sale Deal

Last weekend we got the contact info for a guy that said he had a WHOLE bunch of games to sell.  On Friday he sent us pictures.  It was a tough negotiation.  He would NOT give us a starting price but instead insisted we make him an offer.  We finally offered $125 for everything after making an initial estimate of the lot of $500.  He of course instantly countered with $250.  We should have really low balled him…

We counter offered $150 for just the NES and N64 portions to which he made a final offer of $200 for everything.  We slept on it and then we we found NOTHING at tag sales yesterday, decided it was a good enough deal to move on.  Here’s what we got:

DSC_0803After getting everything home and doing a full inventory, we’ve revalued the whole lot at $650.  Found a couple of hidden gems in the NES portion.  Of course, the NES Top Loader is a pretty cool rare system to find!

Tag Sale 5/1

Had to drive in to work on Friday and stopped at a sale along the way.  They didn’t have much, but I found a couple of good games that will go well with some bundles.

DSC_0804Paid $6 and valued at $20.  Not bad for a quick stop!

Tag Sale Finds 4/25/15

With 12 tag sales to go to this week, we were very excited to get out and check them out.  Here’s what we found.

After 4 sales of absolutely nothing, and having to return home for a forgotten wallet, we finally broke the ice with this:

DSC_0649Paid $2.50 and valued at $15.

The next sale we went to was the one that we’d been looking forward to.  We had wanted to show up early but due to the forgotten wallet, ended up getting there a little after it opened.  Somehow, we were the first people to arrive.  Here’s what we ended up getting:

Purchased for $35 and valued at $165.

Our final find out the day was a bit of a surprise.  We’d thought the sale had potential, but when we showed up there were a TON of people already there.  However, the 2nd box we looked in had a bunch of games.  Here’s what we picked up:

Paid $15 and valued at $75.

We also realized that we missed a Mario Kart Wii with Wheel because we thought it was just a box with a wheel in it.  Ah well!

Good weekend!

4/18/15 Tag Sales

Tag sale season proper is finally upon us so we ventured out.  Stopped at 4 independent sales and 1 neighborhood sale with 12+ homes.  Did very well at the independent sales but the neighborhood sale was practically a bust as EVERYONE was looking for video games.

First sale of the day had advertised video games.

DSC_0658Purchased for an even $20 and valued at $47.  Sometimes you win by inches, not yards.

Next was the neighborhood sale.  Saw some original Xbox games and a couple DS games, but nothing of note.  Did find one sale where I was the first person to ask about video games and bought these 3:

DSC_0655Paid $3 and valued at $27.  I wish they’d had more games at these prices!

Headed to another sale next that had advertised games and got this lot:

DSC_0654Paid $150 and valued at $315.  Not bad.

Had one sale with promise that didn’t pan out.  They had EVERYTHING…but in a storage locker.  Ah well.

Final sale of the day was Nerd-tastic.  Asked about games and he brought all of this out:

DSC_0649Purchased for $36 (I know right?) and valued at $275.  No N64 games, but the Jungle Green system & controller are pretty cool.

Overall tally for the day:

Spent $209

Valued:  $664

Pretty good start to the season!

Moving Sale Game Lot

Ventured out to one of the first sales of the season after I received a response that they would have video games.  Paid $100 for everything and am valuing the lot at $400.

DSC_0519The big disappointment was that the Smash Bros. disc was not in the case, only a Tony Hawk game.

It was truly a very fun sale as I really had to do some digging to find things.  I looked and looked and couldn’t find anything only to have the owner start pulling stuff out of the basement where he said nothing was left.  Ah well!  Found lots of stuff so I’m happy.  🙂

What I think is funny is like I said in my last post:  not much to choose from during the winter so of course that caused me to have my first Find be a non-game item!

Enjoy!
